Primitive Skills

We are pleased to have Doug Meyer joining us to teach a primitive skills class in the historical hills of Kentucky.  Weather permitting we will do alot of classwork in and around rock shelters on private property.  Many of these shelters could have been used by native cultures.  In this course Doug will lead us in the following:

  • Cherokee blowgun and dart making
  • Game calls (predator, turkey and a duck or crow call) using various pieces from the environment.
  • Gourd canteen water carrier.

Doug is an incredible wealth of information knowledge and the author of Native American Blowguns. He teaches and shares primitive skills in various parts of the world but makes his home in the Eastern United States.
