Davy Black
Instructor — Tracking, Wildlife, and Primitive Skills
Davy Black has been training with Nature Reliance School since 2018 and brings a lifetime of outdoor experience to his instruction. A lifelong outdoorsman and avid hunter, Davy blends deep field knowledge with a passion for helping others understand and thrive in the natural world.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Management and a Master’s degree in Biology with a focus on aquatic systems, giving him a strong scientific foundation that enriches every course he teaches.
Davy is a certified NRS Tracker patch holder and enjoys instructing across a wide range of courses, including Survival 1–3, Land Navigation, Scout Tracker, Bushcraft, Primitive Skills, Nature Immersion, SERE, Ham Radio, Outdoor Cooking, Tactical Mantracking, Wilderness First Aid, and government training for first responders. He is also looking forward to contributing to the upcoming Intro to Hunting course, where his expertise in wildlife behavior and fieldcraft will be especially valuable.
