Without a doubt, handheld phones and all the apps that go along with them are great little tools for outdoor adventure. There are a number of apps that you can use to make your stay in the great outdoors more enjoyable and educational. Check back with us later for another blog piece on that very topic.
However, you should never use your handheld phone as a compass and expect any degree of accuracy. There are also a few other things to consider when engaging for the first time, or as a beginner, in good, solid land navigation skills.
