You NEED these items in a vehicle preparedness kit!

ITS-July-August-09-91Yet another snowzilla, snowmageddon, snowpocalypse or whatever the latest hipster word for heavy-snow-in-areas-not-used-to-it has now occurred.  I enjoy hearing from our friends and followers in the north give a good hearty laugh on our lamentations over a few inches of snow.  Those folks are going to the beach and eating picnics in their bathing suits in such weather.

However, for the rest of us we need a little help.  Yesterday here in Kentucky over 3,000 motorists were stranded overnight on Interstate 75 due to tractor trailers and a few regular vehicles simply not being able to navigate the road safely.  Traffic came to complete stop.

Imagine you in that position.  You are traveling down the interstate and starting….NOW….you have to stay the night in your car.  Do you have the necessary materials to do so?  Fortunately I have written a few blog pieces for other blog sites and even a video or two on the subject that I would like to share with you here.

I wrote this one last winter for the Joel Lambert blog site.  It details the how and what of Assembling a Winter Car Kit, check it out and/or watch this video attached to it.

Here is another one I wrote was for Dan’s Depot and is titled, Winter Car Survival Kit.

Yet another one that I wrote is not specific to winter time travel, but does contain a look at Wilderness/Rural kits vs Urban ones.  It also contained a video that you can see here:

There is a lot of information contained in these blog posts.  I hope it helps you develop a kit for your vehicle.  DO NOT wait until the next storm, go ahead and start preparing it now before you need it.  That way you can move about with more confidence.

As always….come on, join in, let’s learn together!
