Eric Comley has been an instructor with Nature Reliance School since 2022, bringing more than two decades of experience in youth development and environmental education. As a longtime University of Kentucky Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development, Eric has helped countless students develop a deeper appreciation for the outdoors and environmental stewardship.

His experience spans Survival, Bushcraft, Primitive Skills, Tracking, Land Navigation, Nature Immersion, and Wilderness First Aid. Known for his enthusiasm and depth of knowledge, Eric helps students explore the natural world with a deeper understanding of plants, ecosystems, and the environment.

Eric's expertise centers on nature education, plant studies, youth development, and environmental stewardship. As a Certified Kentucky Master Naturalist and program instructor specializing in herbaceous plants, he brings extensive knowledge of botany, plant ecology, aquatic ecosystems, wildlife conservation, and related natural sciences.

His certifications include Project WET, Project WILD, Project Learning Tree, Project Underground, and Certified Non-Formal Environmental Educator. Eric also holds CPR and First Aid certifications, supporting his commitment to both education and student safety.

With decades of experience working in youth and environmental education, Eric brings an enthusiastic and approachable teaching style to every course. His passion for plants and ecosystems helps students see the forest—and every plant within it—in a whole new way.
