The American chestnut leaf stands for resilience, a reminder of a once-dominant tree nearly wiped out by blight yet still surviving in scattered pockets. Together, these symbols represent what NRS has always stood for. They blend practical skills with natural wisdom, old-school methods with modern tools, and a deep respect for the land that shapes us.

Since 2006, our logo and mottos have evolved, but the heart behind them has stayed the same. Everything we teach aims to help people live confidently and harmoniously with the outdoors.
